Kiren Rijiju assures help to 'India's Usain Bolt' who 'ran 100 meters in 11 seconds'

Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju has assured help to the 24-year-old man from Madhya Pradesh, hailed by many as India's Usain Bolt, whose video of running 100 meters in just 11 seconds has gone viral. Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had come across the video and asked Rijiju to support the sprinter to advance his skills.

“India is blessed with talented individuals. Provided with right opportunity & right platform, they’ll come out with flying colours to create history! Urge @IndiaSports Min. @KirenRijiju ji to extend support to this aspiring athlete to advance his skills!” Chouhan tweeted.

On Shivraj’s request, the Sports Minister assured that he will arrange to put the man at an athletic academy. “Pls ask someone to bring him to me @ChouhanShivraj ji. I’ll arrange to put him at an athletic academy,” Rijiju tweeted.

Soon after Rijiju’s tweet, the Sports Ministry also assured all support to the 24-year-old Rameshwar Singh and informed that he has been called to SAI Bhopal.

“Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju has assured all support to 24-yr-old Rameshwar Singh. He has been called to #SAI Bhopal & will be joining the centre shortly. His training requirements will be assessed & given support to make a career in sport,” the Sports Authority of India tweeted.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Singh said that he was preparing for the last 4-5 years and showed zeel to win medal for the country. "I've been preparing for 4-5 yrs.I want to win a medal for the country.Govt has assured me of good training facilities.I won't break the govt's trust," the agency quoted him as saying.
