It was disappointing Rio Games 2016 for India as they bagged only two medals in the tournament.  Represented by their largest ever contingent, India will hope to improve its medal tally in the Paralympic Games start which starts on Wednesday at Rio from September 7-18.

A total of 19 Indian athletes will feature in 10 disciplines at the Games.

Paralympic gold medallist javelin thrower Devendra Jhajharia, will look to finish high in the Rio games.

Till now India has bagged two gold, three sliver and three bronze in the Paralympic Games. In last London games India won just one silver and bronze.

Indian squad:

Men: Mariyappan Thangavelu, Varun Singh Bhati, Sharad Kumar, Rampal Chahar (High jump), Sundar Singh Gurjar, Devendra Jhajaria, Rinku, Narender Ranbir, Sandeep (Javelin), Amit Kumar Saroha, Dharambir (Club throw), Naresh Kumar Sharma (Shooting), Suyash Narayan Jadhav (Swimming), Basha Farman (Powerlifting), Ankur Dhama (1,500m), Virender Dhanka (Javelin, Shotput).

Women: Pooja (Archery), Deepa Malik (Shot put), Karamjyoti Dalal (Discus).
