WWE SmackDown Live: The Rock, Dwayne Johnson, returned to WWE on Friday as SmackDown Live made its debut on FOX. While he was already advertised to be on the first WWE SmackDown Live on Fox, the fans in Los Angeles gave the Hollywood star and wrestling icon a thunderous welcome. The show opened with Vince McMahon and Stephanie McMahon welcomig everyone. Becky Lynch then kicked off the broadcast talking about it was a big moment to kick off the new era for WWE. However, she said she was more interested in 'kicking some ass'.
Baron Corbin interrupted Becky Lynch and made his way to the ring. The King of the Ring winner started questioning Lynch on whether she really was "The Man".
At that moment, The Rock's theme song hit sending fans in a frenzy. Rock talked about how he was the first to utter the phrase "smack down" years ago. He ended with "finally The Rock has come back home".

Corbin said that The Rock was no longer the Great One. He said Corbin was most electrifying man in sports entertainment now. Corbin said LA only had one King and it was not LeBron James. The Rock asked him if he think he's superior to everyone, to which he said yes, and Lynch piped in with the "it doesn't matter what you think." Rock then asked Crobin if he thought that he was a "super tough dude," eventually prompting the crowd to chant "STD."

Finally a fight broke out, ending with The Rock giving Baron Corbin the People's Elbow and the Rock Bottom.
