New Delhi:

An American teenager Kyle Giersdorf on Sunday became the first Fortnite world champion in the solo division and also won $3 million. Could you imagine? No, right! Usually our parents do not allow us to play video games saying that it is a waste of time and waste of money too. But playing video game has helped Kyle Giersdorf alias Bugha win $3 million.

According to the report of NDTV’s Gadgets 360, a 16-year-old teenager who originally belongs to Pennsylvania, took the lead in the first of six games and won the championship. After winning the championship, Kyle Giersdorf said, "It's insane".

"This morning he was worriless, energetic, having fun to make sure he wasn't stressed at all," his best friend Colin Bradley told AFP after the final.

"He's one of the smartest players. He knows when to attack, when not to attack, to stay high ground. He's a strategic player," Bradley said.

"A lot of people think it's just a game, but he is practicing, dedicated, determined," said Bugha's aunt, Dawn Seiders. "I think he's the definition of a professional. It's massive,” she added.

It is worth mentioning here that Epic Games - Fortnite's creators - have spent a $100 million on the inaugural event, including staging 10 weeks of qualifying culminating in this weekend's tournament. Over the three-day tournament, Epic Games gave out $30 million in prize money. Every competitor was guaranteed to exit with $50,000, making them the envy of the schoolyard when they return home.

On the final day of the tournament i.e. on Sunday, gamers using pseudonyms ‘Nyhrox’ and ‘aqua’ became the first Fortnite world champions in the duo division, winning $1.5 million each. On Sunday, apart from Bugha, Psalm, Epikwhale and Kreo became millionaires.

Epic Games - Fortnite's creators was held at the Arthur Ashe stadium.
