Reliance Industries limited (RIL) has introduced new app for Android users ‘Jio Browser’ which is touted to be a ‘fast and lite’ solution for web browsing. The new web browser will be supporting eight Indian languages and is 4.8 MB in size which is compatible with devices running on Android 5.0 Lollipop. The browser also supports features including incognito tab and even sharing news and video content on social media. The Jio Browser will also show news list of different categories like entertainment, politics, sports and videos.
The news and video content on the Jio Browser are shown with the help of a Hyderabad based news aggregator platform PublicVibe. Jio Browser basically works in English language and also supports eight regional languages including Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu.
As the user switch language from English to any other regional language, the interface of Jio Browser app changes automatically and also the content on the latest news stories.
After making required changes in Settings menu, the user can see the websites including Google and Facebook in selected regional languages. There is an also option to adjust the text size manually.
The Jio Browser comes with few default tabs including MyJio, BookMyShow, AJio, Amazon.in, Flipkart, NDTV and more. However, the user can change or update it with their favourite tab and can also bookmark different URLs.
The company also claims that Jio Browser delivers a fast web browsing experience as it doesn’t generate cached webpage like Opera Mini. The newly launched web browser also has huge search bar on the home screen along with a microphone icon which is powered by Google Voice Search.
Jio Browser comes in 4.8 MB of size on Google Play Store and is compatible for all Android devices running on or above Android 5.0 Lollipop. The Jio Browser has 4.4 average ratings from more than 1600 users reviews.
