Reliance Jio users will be on cloud nine as the LTE mobile network company has resumed selling their JioPhone, the smart feature phone which has created a buzz in the smartphone markets across the country.
The Mukesh Ambani-led company will make the mouth-watering gadget available to 10 million more customers who had previously booked the same. Earlier, the telecom service provider has failed to meet the demand of all its customers due to supply constraints.
Meanwhile, Reliance Jio is providing a link to all those deprived customers with which they may avail the much-anticipated device from their nearest outlet.
Reliance Jio is practically selling their mass-market feature phone for free as the Rs 1500 price tag of the phone is refundable to its customers after a period of three years.
Moreover, customers who return the phone within 12 to 24 months receive Rs 500 while those returning back in 24 to 36 months get a refund of Rs 1,000.
JioPhone is a 4G Volte feature phone with a bar design and 2.4-inch QVGA display that is not touch sensitive. Along with a dedicated button for torchlight, it will also come with an alphanumeric keypad, microphone, speaker and will support all Indian languages. It has an SOS feature as well, which can be activated by pressing 5.
The device has the Qualcomm 205 SoC, this thing is not revealed by Jio at the time of launch, but Qualcomm India announced this through the official Twitter page. The processor is dual clocked at 1.1 GHz. It supports FM Radio, HD video streaming and dual sim connectivity for 4G, 3G, and 2G networks.
Apart from these exciting specifications, JioPhone offers free voice calls along with 0.5GB of internet per day along with unlimited SMS for Rs 153 a month. The phone runs on a forked version of Firefox OS called KaiOS and has come up with features like voice control and Jio’s suite of apps.
