Recently, Airtel announced that the telecom operator has lost more than 570 million subscribers in the month of December 2018. The number has dropped significantly from 34.1 crore to 28.42 crore subscribers and it is expected to drop in the month of January as well. Bharti Airtel even suspended outgoing calls facility of the subscribers with low balance. The telecom operator is leaving no stone unturned in providing better offers at handy prices.
Airtel has been constantly changing its prepaid plans and even started offering affordable Rs 100 and Rs 500 long-term validity plans.
Airtel’s one of the most popular prepaid plan of Rs 199 has also witnessed some changes in it. Earlier, Airtel Rs 199 plan used to offer 1GB high-speed data per day for a validity of 28 days alon g with unlimited calling and 100 SMS per day.
Now, the company has revised its Rs 199 plan and will offer 500 MB more than the previous offering. It will now provide 1.5GB 4G data per day, making it a total of 42GB for 28 days. The rest of the benefits remain the same which includes voice calling and per day SMS limit.
It will be interesting to see how this move helps Airtel in holding their customers and bring-in more subscribers.
Talking about other operators, Reliance Jio has Rs 198 plan which offers 2GB high-speed data for 28 days, making it a total of 56GB for the period. It also offers unlimited local, STD calling plus free national roaming along with 100 SMS per day. The subscriber also gets free access to Ji suite of apps.
Meanwhile, Vodafone is already offering 1.5GB of high-speed data per day, making it a total of 42GB for 28 days. It also comes with 100 National SMS per day along with unlimited voice calling facility.
