Xiaomi’s latest gaming phones Black Shark 3 and Black Shark 3 Pro were launched in China. Along with phones, Xiaomi launched a bunch of accessories for a better gaming experience. Coming back to Black Shark 3 and Black Shark 3 Pro, the key features on the gaming phones include Snapdragon 865 SoC, triple camera setup, and a large battery, among others.
The price for the 8GB + 128GB variant of the Black Shark 3 in China has been set at CNY 3,499 (approx. Rs 36,800). Whereas, the 12GB + 128GB model of Black Shark 3 costs CNY 3,799 (approx. Rs 39,900), and the 12GB + 256GB variant carries a price tag of CNY 3,999 (approx. Rs 42,000). Black Shark 3 is up for pre-orders and will go on sale starting March 6. Black Shark 3 is available in Armor Grey, Lightning Black, and Star Silver colour options.
On the other hand, the price for the 8GB + 256GB variant of the Black Shark 3 Pro in China has been set at CNY 4,699 (approx. Rs 49,400). Whereas, the 12GB + 256GB storage model costs CNY 4,999 (approx. Rs 52,600). Black Shark 3 Pro comes in Armor Grey and Phantom Black.
It is to be noted that there is no information regarding the availability of Black Shark 3 and Black Shark 3 Pro in the Indian market.
Back Shark 3 features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display (1080 x 2400) with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a pixel density of 394ppi. The display covers 105 per cent of DCI-P3 colour gamut and a peak brightness of 500 nits. The display has a 90Hz refresh rate and a 270Hz touch sampling rate.
The gaming phone supports dual-SIM (Nano) technology and runs Android 10 with the company's JOYUI skin atop. Back Shark 3 is powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 865 SoC clocked up to 2.84GHz. Importantly, the graphics are managed by the Adreno 650 GPU. Black Shark 3 has the option of 8GB and 12GB RAM with the former being LPDDR4x dual channel and the latter being LPDDR5 dual channel.
On the imaging front, Black Shark 3 comes equipped with a triple rear camera setup that houses a 64-megapixel sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. The primary camera is assisted by a 13-megapixel sensor with an f/2.25 aperture and a 5-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2. On the front, there is a 20-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.2 aperture.
Black Shark 3 offers 128GB and 256GB storage variants and both of them are faster UFS 3.0 based. The gaming phone supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax ), Bluetooth v5.0, and sports a 3.5mm headphone jack. Also, there is a USB Type-C port for charging and an under-display fingerprint scanner.
The device packs a 4,720mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging. However, the 8GB + 128GB variant of Black Shark 3 comes with a 30W charger. Further, there is a magnetic charging connector on the back that is capable of 18W charging.
Black Shark 3 Pro sports a 7.1-inch AMOLED display (1440 x 3120) with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 which gives it a pixel density of 483ppi. The display covers 97 per cent of DCI-P3 colour gamut and a peak brightness of 500 nits. The display has a 90Hz refresh rate and a 270Hz touch sampling rate.

Black Shark 3 Pro packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 65W charger as standard. Interestingly, Black Shark 3 Pro comes with dedicated gaming buttons on the right side. When put into landscape mode, these buttons are like shoulder buttons, common on most gamepads.
