Honor Play 9A has gone official in China amid the novel coronavirus outbreak. The key features on Honor’s budget smartphone include dual rear camera setup, octa-core MediaTek processor, and a massive 5,000mAh battery, among others. The Honor Play 9A is said to be offered in two storage variants and three colour options.
The price for 4GB + 64GB of Honor Play 9A in China has been set at CNY 899 (approx. Rs 9,500). On the other hand, the 4GB + 128GB of Honor Play 9A in China carries a price tag of CNY 1,199 (approx. Rs 12,700). The smartphone will be made available in Night Black, Blue Water Emerald, and Jasper Green colour options.
According to a report of NDTV’s Gadgets 360, Honor Play 9A is already available for pre-orders and will continue till April 6, 11:30 pm (April 7, 10 am IST). Final payment will have to be done between April 7 and April 8, 11:59 pm (April 9, 10:29 am). Deliveries will start from April 7. However, the smartphone is yet to reveal whether Honor Play 9A will be made available in international markets, including India.
Honor Play 9A features a 6.3-inch HD+ (720x1,600 pixels) display with a pixel density of 278ppi. The smartphone supports dual-SIM (Nano) technology and runs Android 10 with Magic UI 3.0.1 on top. Under the hood, the device is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM. Internal storage offers up to 128GB which can be expanded up to 512GB via microSD card.
On the imaging front, Honor Play 9A comes equipped with a dual rear camera setup that houses a 13-megapixel shooter with f/1.8 aperture. The primary camera is assisted by a 2-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 lens. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with an f/2.0 aperture.

Connectivity options on the smartphone include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/AGPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, and Micro-USB port. Also, there is a fingerprint sensor at back. Honor Play 9A also has an ambient light sensor, compass, and a proximity sensor. The device packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports 10W charging technology. Honor Play 9A measures 159.07x74.06x9.04mm and weighs 185 grams.
