Realme 5s was recently launched in India. It is to be noted that Realme 5s is an upgraded version of the Realme 5. The key features on newly launched Realme phone include quad rear camera setup, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC, and 5,000mAh battery, among others. On the competition front in India, Realme 5s is up against Redmi Note 8 and Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2. News Nation brings to you the comparison between Realme 5s, Redmi Note 8, and Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 on the basis of specifications, features, and price.

Realme 5s

Realme 5s features a 6.5-inch HD+ (720 x 1600 pixels) display with 89 percent screen-to-body ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 3+ protection. The smartphone supports dual-SIM (Nano) connectivity and runs Android Pie with the ColorOS 6 skin on top. Under the hood, Realme 5s is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC clocked at 2.0GHz, and it is paired with 4GB of RAM.

On the imaging front, Realme 5s comes equipped with a quad-rear camera setup that houses a 48-megapixel primary snapper that employs the Samsung ISOCELL GM1 sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. The primary camera is assisted by an 8-megapixel wide-angle shooter with a 119-degree (±1.5-degree) field of view and an f/2.25 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro lens with an f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel portrait snapper with an f/2.4 aperture. Also, there is a 13-megapixel selfie snapper on the front.

The internal storage phone carries up to 128GB which can be expanded via a microSD card (up to 256GB). Connectivity options on the newly-launched smartphone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/A-GPS, Beidou, Galileo, and Glonass. It packs a 5,000mAh battery. The device measures 164.4x75.6x9.3mm and weigh 198 grams. Sensors on Realme 5s include accelerometer, proximity, ambient light, gyroscope, compass, and a fingerprint sensor for authentication.

The price for the base 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant of Realme 5s in India has been set at Rs 9,999. On the other hand, the top-spec 4GB RAM + 128GB storage model of Realme 5s costs Rs 10,999. The smartphone will be made available in three colour options including Crystal Blue, Crystal Purple, and Crystal Red. The phone will go on sale starting November 29 via Flipkart and Realme.com.

Redmi Note 8

Redmi Note 8 sports a 6.22-inch HD+ Dot Notch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The smartphone supports dual-SIM (Nano) technology and runs Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10. Under the hood, there is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC, paired with 3GB or 4GB of RAM.

On the imaging front, Redmi Note 8 comes equipped with a dual rear camera setup that houses a 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, there is an 8-megapixel camera sensor at the front. The dual rear camera setup is preloaded AI Portrait and AI Scene Detection features. The phone is also touted to recognise 33 scene categories, including six India-specific categories. Also, there is artificial intelligence (AI) powered features, including Face Unlock. Further, the phone has a fingerprint sensor at the back.

Redmi Note 8 has 64GB of onboard storage which is expandable via microSD card (up to 512GB) with a dedicated slot. Connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, infrared, wireless FM radio, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port.

The entry-level smartphone comes with a new Aura Mirror Design at the back. Redmi 8 packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. Redmi 8 is available in Oynx Black, Ruby Red, and Sapphire Blue colour options. It also has a splash-resistant P2i coating on top.

The price for Redmi Note 8 in India has been set at Rs 7,999 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant. On the other hand, the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant of Redmi 8 costs Rs 8,999. However, for the first five million units, the device with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant is available with an introductory price of Rs 7,999.

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2

Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 features a 5.99-inch full-HD+ (1080x2160 pixels) IPS Full View display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The dual-SIM (Nano) Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC, paired with Adreno 509 GPU and up to 6GB RAM. The device also has up to 64GB of onboard storage that is expandable via microSD card.

On the imagining front, the smartphone comes equipped with a dual rear camera setup. The 3GB and 4GB RAM versions of the smartphone carry a 13-megapixel primary camera with an f/2.2 lens and a 5-megapixel depth-sensing secondary image sensor, while the 6GB RAM variant comes with 16-megapixel primary shooter in place of the 13-megapixel shooter. On the front, it houses a 16-megapixel shooter for selfies.

The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery and a rear fingerprint sensor. The 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant of the phone costs Rs Rs 7,999, the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant can be purchased at Rs 8,999 and the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant can be grabbed at Rs 11,999.
