Under Redmi’s Note 8 series, two smartphones including Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro has been launched in China. Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with a redesigned body with significant upgrades, 64-megapixel rear camera and many more. It is said that Redmi Note 8 Pro is a successor of Redmi Note 7 Pro. Therefore, News Nation brings to you the comparison between two smartphones on the basis of specifications, features and prices.   

Redmi Note 8 Pro 

Redmi Note 8 Pro features a 6.53-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) screen with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, waterdrop-style notch and Gorilla Glass 5 on both front and back. The dual-SIM (Nano) Redmi Note 8 Pro runs on MIUI 10, based on Android 9 Pie. The smartphone is powered by MediaTek's new gaming focussed Helio G90T SoC, paired with up to 8GB of RAM. The phone comes with liquid cooling support for the enhanced gaming experience.   

On the imagining front, Redmi Note 8 Pro sports four cameras the back. It is the first smartphone to have 64-megapixel main camera. The primary sensor is joined by the same camera setup as the Redmi Note 8 – 8-megapixel wide-angle shooter and two 2-megapixel cameras. On the front, it houses 20-megapixel selfie camera.   

Redmi Note 8 Pro packs a 4,500mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. Connectivity options it include NFC, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, IR blaster. 

The 6GB of RAM and 64GB variant of Redmi Note 8 Pro costs CNY 1,399 (approx. Rs 14,000). The price of 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB models of Redmi Note 8 Pro has been set at CNY 1,599 (approx. Rs 16,000) and CNY 1,799 (approx. Rs 18,000), respectively. 

The smartphone is yet to be launched in India.  

Redmi Note 7 Pro 

Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with a larger 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) LTPS display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It also has a 2.5D curved glass protection. Under the hood, there is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC, coupled with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, which can be expanded up to 256GB. 

In terms of optics, Redmi Note 7 Pro has a 48-megapixel Samsung GM1 sensor that sits on the dual rear camera setup, along with an f/1.8 aperture and another 5-megapixel sensor. On the front, there is a 13-megapixel selfie camera with several AI features like face unlock, smart beauty. 

The Redmi Note 7 Pro packs a 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4 support. Connectivity options on the Redmi Note 7 Pro include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm headphone jack. 

The 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant of Redmi Note 7 Pro is being retailed at Rs 13,999. The top-end variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage costs Rs 15,999. The Redmi Note 7 Pro comes in three colours - Neptune Blue, Space Black and Nebula Red - and all of them are available for sale.
