Redmi Note 9S, the rehashed version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro, has been launched in Malaysia. The key features on Redmi Note 9S include HD display, quad rear camera setup, and a 5020mAh battery, among others. It is to be noted that the selfie camera is housed in a centrally-positioned hole-punch.
The price for the 4GB + 64GB variant of Redmi Note 9S in Malaysia has been set at RM 799 (approx. Rs 13,700). On the other hand, the 6GB + 128GB storage model of Redmi Note 9S costs RM 899 (approx. Rs 15,000).
Redmi Note 9S comes in Aurora Blue, Glacier White, and Interstellar Grey colour options. The smartphone will go on sale in Malaysia this month. The phone will soon go on sale in Thailand and Singapore.
Redmi Note 9S sports a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1080 x 2400) display with 91 per cent screen-to-body ratio and 20:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone supports dual-SIM (Nano) technology and runs on Android 10 with MIUI 11 custom skin on top. Under the hood, Redmi Note 9S is powered by an 8nm octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor which is mated to 6GB of RAM. It offers 128GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 512GB via microSD card.
On the imaging front, Redmi Note 9S comes equipped with the quad rear camera setup that houses a 48-megapixel main camera with an f/1.79 aperture. The primary camera is assisted by an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera with a 119-degree field of view, a 5-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, there is a 16-megapixel selfie camera.

Redmi Note 9S packs a 5020mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. It is worth mentioning here that the fast charger comes in the retail package of the smartphone. Connectivity options on the smartphone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NavIC, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Moreover, there is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for authentication.
