Samsung Galaxy M40 with Snapdragon 675 SoC launched in India, to go on sale on June 18

After a series of teasers and rumours, Samsung Galaxy M40 was unveiled in India on Tuesday. The smartphone will go on sale starting June 18 through Amazon.in and Samsung Online Shop with a price tag of Rs 19,990. In the Indian market, the Galaxy M40 will go up against Realme 3 Pro, Redmi Note 7 Pro and Nokia 7.1.

The Samsung Galaxy M40 features a 6.3-inch full-HD+ Infinity-O Display, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and 480 nits of brightness. The device runs 9 Pie with One UI on top and has an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC, paired with Adreno 612 GPU and 6GB of RAM. The smartphone weighs 168 grams and has 7.9mm of thickness.

As far as the optics are concerned, the smartphone is equipped with a triple rear camera setup that houses a 32-megapixel primary shooter. There’s also a 5-megapixel secondary and an 8-megapixel tertiary sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens. There is a 16-megapixel shooter on the front.

On the space front, the Galaxy M40 has 128GB of inbuilt storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 512GB). It packs a 3,500mAh battery which is paired with a 15W fast charging technology. On the connectivity front, the smartphone includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS and a USB Type-C port. It is to be noted that there is a fingerprint sensor at the back.

The Samsung Galaxy M40 comes in two colour options i.e. Midnight Blue and Seawater Blue gradient.

Interestingly, the Galaxy M40 customers on Reliance Jio would be entitled to get double data benefits on recharging with Rs 198 and Rs 299 prepaid plans. On the other hand, Galaxy M40 customers on Vodafone and Idea will receive cashback worth Rs 3,750 on recharge of Rs 255. Notably, the cashback will be available through recharge vouchers of Rs 75 for up to 50 recharges. Also, the customers will get additional 0.5GB data per day for up to 18 months.
