Sony Xperia 8, a new mid-range smartphone, will be launched in Japan late this month. It is to be noted that the new smartphone was announced through a press release issued by Sony Japan. The key features on the smartphone include Snapdragon 630, 6-inch full-HD+ resolution screen and dual-camera setup, among others. Sony Xperia 8 will be priced at 54,000 Yen (approx. Rs 35,900). However, there is no word on its India’s availability.
Sony Xperia 8: Specifications
Sony Xperia features a 6-inch full-HD+ resolution screen with a 21:9 aspect ratio. Also, there is a Corning Gorilla Glass 6 at the front and back for protection against damage and scratches. The body of the device is metal. The smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 630. It comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage and runs on Android 9 Pie.
On the imaging front, Sony Xperia 8 comes equipped with a dual-camera setup that houses a 12-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel secondary camera. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel shooters for selfies.
The device has an IPX5/ 8 rating for water resistance and IP6X rating for dust resistance. It will be made available in Grey, Black, orange and Blue colour options.
The phone packs a 2,760mAh battery and it uses a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfers. Interestingly, LTE connectivity and VoLTE are also supported on the device.
Earlier, Sony Xperia 5 was launched at IFA 2019 in Berlin. The key features on the Sony Xperia 5 include a 21:9 Cinema Wide aspect ratio, a Snapdragon 855 SoC, an improved game enhancer and a triple rear camera lens. The pre-orders for the Sony Xperia 5 is already underway.
