New Delhi:

IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman was the only fighter pilot in the world to have shot down an F-16 combat aircraft from his vintage MiG-21 Bison aircraft on February 27 during an aerial conflict with Pakistan. He was handed over to India on March 1 after being captured by the Pakistani Army. By the time, he returned home, Varthaman had already become a real-life hero and a household name.

Now, you can also do the same what Varthaman did – virtually -- without being captured.

In a bid to strike a chord with video game lovers, the Indian Air Force (IAF) on Saturday released the teaser of a flight simulator mobile game to be launched by the end of the month.

The teaser released on Twitter also featured a character sporting a gunslinger moustache similar to that of Varthaman.

The teaser gave insights on the single-player game "Indian Air Force: A cut above" and showed several fighter jets in aerial combat, targeting different on-land structures.

"I am an air warrior, proud, dependable and fearless. In every act and deed, I put the honour and security of my motherland, first," the teaser said setting up the storyline for the game.

"I fly deep into enemy territory and strike fear in the hearts of my enemies," it added.

In the video, a game character standing near an aircraft shared a resemblance with Varthaman.

The IAF mobile game is already receiving a positive response from users on the micro-blogging website.
