DCW Chief Swati Maliwal ends hunger strike, hails Ordinance in POCSO Act as 'Historic'

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) Chief Swati Maliwal on Sunday ended her indefinite hunger strike at Rajgat. Swati broke her fast after President Ram Nath promulgated an ordinance to amend the POCSO Act. The amendments in the act now award stringent punishment to those who are convicted in the rape of children below 12 years of age. Swati, who demanded death penalty for those who rape minors, called the ordinance as a 'Historic' victory for the people.
