Deepatsov: 3 lakh earthen lamps lit on banks of Sarayu river, enters world record

The Deepatsov 2018, organised by Yogi Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh, entered the Guinness Book of Records for lighting up over three lakh ‘diyas’ or earthen lamps on the banks of river Sarayu in Ayodhya. “A total of 3,01,152 diyas were lit up simultaneously for a period of five minutes, which is a new record,” Official adjudicator of the Guinness World Records Rishi Nath said in the presence of CM Yogi and South Korean First Lady Kim Jung-sook.
