Discussion On CAB Continues In Rajya Sabha, Voting At 6 PM

The Citizenship Amendment Bill, which seeks to grant citizenship to non-Muslim immigrants from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan if they faced religious persecution there, was passed in the Lok Sabha with 311-80 votes on Monday night. Today, the bill was tabled in Rajya Sabha amidst massive protests from the opposition parties. In Rajya Sabha, intention to discriminate against Muslims and violation of Article 14 of the Constitution are the two major criticisms that the Narendra Modi government is facing over the Citizenship Amendment Bill.
