I Will File Curative Plea, Says Nirbhaya Case Convict's Lawyer

Supreme Court has rejected a review plea filed by Akshay Kumar Singh, one of the four men convicted in the 2012 Nirbhaya gangrape and murder case, on Wednesday. While talking to the media, Akshay Kumar Singh's lawyer AP Singh said that he sought three weeks' time to file a mercy petition before the President of India. He further added that the curative plea will be filed. However, Supreme Court allowed seven days to file a mercy petition before the President. Court further said the petitioner can avail the relief of mercy petition within the time stipulated.
