Jammu ropeway drill goes wrong, 2 killed and 4 injured as trolley turns turtle

Two persons were killed and four others injured during a mock drill at the Mahamaya ropeway project in Jammu on Sunday evening. One of the trollies turned turtle and all six of them fell into a deep gorge below. Two died on the spot. Governor Satya Pal Malik has ordered a magisterial probe into the incident and announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh each for the kin of the dead. The ropeway was to be inaugurated on February 3.
