Hours after the Uttar Pradesh Police caught the alleged sharpshooter in the Gaurav Chandel murder case, the accused was shot at by the police during an encounter. Police in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur on Sunday claimed that it has solved the case of the murder of businessman Gaurav Chandel following the arrest of a sharp-shooter of the notorious Mirchi gang operating in the western region of the state. Police said that the alleged sharp-shooter - Umesh - has been arrested. A pistol was seized from him. According to reports, police interrogated Umesh upon arrest and then took him to Hapur to recover his laptop, phone and revolver. Chandel was killed on January 6 in the Greater Noida area.
