Odisha: Flood situation intensifies in southern part

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has put South Odisha and coastal Andhra Pradesh on high alert as the cyclone storm 'Daye' is set to hit the region in the next few hours Friday. As per the weather department, the deep depression which earlier formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal is now moving with a speed of 23 km per hour towards Odisha and adjoining north Andhra Pradesh coast close to Gopalpur region. The heavy rainfall and incessant floods are causing destruction to the life and property in Odisha.
