Supreme Court upholds constitutional validity of Aadhaar

The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld the constitutional validity of the Aadhaar Act, saying, "It is impossible to live in India without Aadhaar". The Supreme Court said that Biometric data shall not be shared with any agency without the permission of the court and that cell phone companies cannnot demand Aadhaar card. The Supreme Court, after a 38-day hearing, also reserved its May 10 verdict in the case, saying that CBSE, NEET and UGC cannot make Aadhaar mandatory.
