Nation Reporter: Supreme Court rejects independent probe in Judge Loya’s death case

Nation Reporter: The Supreme Court rejected a batch of pleas seeking an independent probe in the alleged mysterious death of special CBI judge BH Loya who was involved in the hearing of the high-profile Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case. The apex court, while rejecting the plea, said that there was no merit in the petitions, and adding that there was no reason to doubt the statements of the sitting judges. The court further added that Judge Loya had indeed died a natural death and said that the petitioners had attempted to malign the image of the judiciary.
