New Delhi:
In a breakthrough discovery, body parts of passengers, who died in two of Air India plane crashes, have been found in the French Alps. It is astonishing that the body parts survived after 50 years of crash.
A mountain enthusiast Daniel Roche made the discovery on Thursday. He has spent years on the Bossons Glacier on Mont Blanc looking for remains.
The two Air India major accidents had taken place in 1966 and 1950.
In 1966, an Air India Boeing 707 from Bombay to New York crashed near Mont Blanc's summit. A total of 117 people were on board and all of them died in the crash.
In 1950, an Air India flight crashed on the mountain, killing 48 people.
