In a major embarrassment for Pakistan, the United Nations Security Council’s consolidated list of terrorists and terror-supporting entities has 139 entries from the Islamic nation.
Updated on Tuesday, the UNSC list included 26/11 Mumbai terror attack mastermind and Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) chief Hafiz Saeed and India’s most wanted gangster Dawood Ibrahim.
According to the United Nations, Dawood holds several Pakistani passports and owns a “palatial bungalow in the hilly area of Noorabad, Karachi.”
Hafiz Saeed is listed as a person wanted by Interpol for involvement in terrorist activities. Apart from Hafiz, the name of his two deputies Abdul Salaam and Zafar Iqbal are also included in the updated list, the Dawn news reported.

The 2008 Mumbai attack mastermind’s terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba and its aliases such as Jamaatud Dawa, al-Mansoorian, Paasban-i-Kashmir, Paasban-i-Ahle Hadith, and Falah-i-Insaniat Foundation also featured in the list.
Osama bin Laden’s heir apparent and Al Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri is the first person on the list that identifies all those individuals who have lived in Pakistan and have been associated with groups operating from Pakistani territory.
The terrorist entities that were allegedly based in Pakistan, worked from there or had links to Pakistani individuals, include Jaish-e-Mohammed, Afghan Support Committee, Lashkar-i-Jhangvi, Al Akhtar Trust International, Harkatul Jihad Islami, Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan, Jamaatul Ahrar and Khatiba Imam Al-Bukhari.
