Multiple people were reported injured in a shooting incident at Gable House Bowl in Torrance, Los Angeles, the police said.

At three people have been killed and four injured in a shooting incident at Gable House Bowl in Torrance, Los Angeles, California, the police said, according to news agency AP. Teams of the Torrance Police Department (TPD) rushed to the spot and advised people to stay away from the scene. “Reports of shots fired with multiple victims down.  TPD is on the scene. Investigation is ongoing. Please stay away from the area,” the Torrance Police tweeted. An eyewitness who were at the scene when the shooting started told local media that they ran into a nearby bar to take cover. "We just ran right into the bar and took cover. All we heard was just, like two people got shot," the eyewitness said.

According to reports, the police cordoned off the entire area and was investigating the incident. Several police vehicles blocked the Hawthorne and Sepulveda Boulevards while others were spotted outside the Gable House Bowl at 22501 Hawthorne Boulevards.

People outside the Gable House Bowl appeared in a state of shock. Some of them were vomiting, while others were crying, screaming, the Los Angeles Times reported. “There was a fight and then we heard nine gunshots,” said the local English daily quoted passersby as saying.

Several police cars blocked Hawthorne and Sepulveda boulevards, and some were parked outside the Gable House Bowl, which is at 22501 Hawthorne Blvd. It was not immediately known whether the shooting was a terrorist attack and who was behind it.

Torrance, a coastal city, is located around 20 miles (32 kilometers) southeast of downtown Los Angeles in the South Bay region. According to health authorities, nearly 40,000 people died in the United States as a result of firearms in 2017 -- a figure that includes suicides.
