New Delhi:

The Sindh government declared April 4 as a national holiday in the province, on account of the 39th death anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. The government issued a notification which stated that the all the offices, provincial government, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies will remain closed on Wednesday.

Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, a former prime minister of Pakistan, founded the Pakistan People's Party (PPP). The fourth president of Pakistan was credited for being the pioneer of the nuclear program in the country.

Bhutto was executed on April 4, 1979 at Rawalpindi district jail, under the government of Ziaul Haq. He was the father of Benazir Bhutto, the first woman prime minister of Pakistan.

According to a report in Geo News, several Bhutto supporters have reached to Larkana ahead of his death anniversary. Central leaders of Pakistan People’s Party are expected to address the party workers on Wednesday.
