Pakistan’s ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf took to Twitter to criticise the Indian media for their hyper-nationalism. It also said that the Indian government, in dire need of winning the upcoming elections, are willing to create unrest in the entire region.

The PTI said, “We realise it’s election year, and a desperation across the border. Fact of the matter is, Indian jets were forced to retreat in haste by Pakistan army patrols and dumped fuel, which in their scramble they thought was a bomb. (sic)”

Criticising the India media, the Imran Khan-led PTI said “We always knew Indian media was irresponsible, but beating the war drums shows a disturbing bloodlust and deteriorating mindset at a time when Pakistan is on an upward trajectory. Indian jets scrambled back from Balakot which lies close to the LOC. Perhaps Indian Defence Ministry should call up Indian media houses and inform them of the cover up story they have for Indian Air Force retreat. Might help in controlling their hysteria. (sic)”

It didn’t stop short of alluding the media coverage to Bollywood and said, “Side Effects of Bollywood Are Hazardous To Indian Media’s Mental Health. Might Induce Hallucinations and Delusions Of Grandeur. (sic)”

Earlier in the day, Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had said, “Indian government is in dire need of winning the upcoming elections, selfish enough, they are willing to create unrest in the entire region. Pakistan will use all international forums to expose India while being ready to retaliate to any aggression.”

The Indian Air Force carried out pre-dawn airstrikes on Tuesday and destroyed major launch pads of terrorists in Balakot in PoK. More than 10 bombs were dropped by the multi-role fighter jet Mirage 2000 at around 3:30 am.

The aerial attack comes a day after Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held a high-level meeting with all three service chiefs. Defence experts say that Mirages would have used 500 kg laser-guided bombs. The Mirage 2000s may have used Israeli lightening laser designator pods to drop their precision bombs. Though Pakistan has tweeted the photos of large craters, the actual impact of the airstrike will be revealed by the satellite images.
