New Delhi:

September 11, 2001, the day that completely changed the way the world would go on.

The day, as was termed by several quarters, America was attacked on its own soil. When four passenger airplanes were used as destroyers, bringing down 110-story North and South towers of the World Trade Center complex in New York City and along with causing significant damage and collapse of other buildings in the World Trade Center complex, one crashed into the Pentagon in Arlington County, Virginia, while the fourth plane crashed into a field in Stonycreek Township near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

The synchronized terrorist attacks killed 2,997 people in a matter of a couple of hours.

Movie makers too came out with their productions depicting the events of the day and incidents preceding and following the attacks.

So here’s presenting a list of six movies that revolve around 9/11 terror attacks.

World Trade Center (2006)

Directed by Oliver Stone, the movie stars Nicolas Cage, Maria Bello, Michael Peña, and Michael Shannon.

World Trade Center captures the essence of hope that refuses to bow down to terrorism.

It focuses on the lives of rescuers and families of the victims who don’t give up their search for the survivors and family members feared dead and hence they embark on a rescue and recovery mission that is driven by faith that under the debris a fellow citizen, a friend, or a family member may be found.

This movie is based on the true story of John McLoughlin and William J. Jimeno, two of the last survivors who were pulled out from Ground Zero with the determined efforts of the rescuers.

The videos are recorded by the common people moments before the impact of the first plane till the collapse of the WTC 1 and 2. It is about the 102 minutes that changed USA forever and narrated by the people who lived those minutes.

Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004)

Perhaps the most sharp, piercing representation of the events preceding and following the September 11 attacks. Fahrenheit 9/11 is a 2004 American documentary film directed, written by, and starring filmmaker, director and political commentator Michael Moore.

Fahrenheit 9/11 begins by suggesting that the 2000 election of George W Bush was rigged. The film then moves straightaway into the September 11 attacks.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, US President George W Bush is visiting Emma E. Booker School in Sarasota, Florida when he is informed of the first plane hitting the World Trade Center. Then while reading The Pet Goat White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card informs him that a second airplane has hit the World Trade Center and that the nation is "under attack."

But surprisingly President Bush remains seated for about 10 minutes and spends another 10 odd minutes at the school.
