Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday arrived in Russian city Sochi to hold an “agendaless” informal summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This is Modi’s second such meeting after the informal summit in Wuhan with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
“Greetings to the friendly people of Russia. I look forward to my visit to Sochi tomorrow and my meeting with President Putin. It is always a pleasure to meet him,” PM tweeted.
The two leaders will focus on pressing global and regional issues, including the impact of the US withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal, during the Sochi Informal Summit. They will meet for four to six hours for the “agendaless” talks where deliberations on bilateral issues were likely to be limited, sources said.
