US President Donald Trump on Tuesday ruled out an end to the partial government shutdown till the Congress to prevent entry of illegal immigrants approve funds for building a wall along the Mexican border. "I can't tell you when the government is going to reopen (Not until) we have a wall, a fence, whatever they would like to call it. I'll call it whatever they want. But it's all the same thing. It's a barrier from people pouring into our country a barrier from drugs," Trump told reporters in his Oval Office. Democrats and some Republicans have rejected Trump's demand for the US-Mexico border. The Trump administration is seeking more than US dollar 5 billion for the construction of the border wall.

"There is a problem in this world today called human trafficking. We are not going to let that take place. We are working so hard to catch these traffickers...We can't do it without a barrier...without a wall. It's my hope to have this done, completed all 500 to 550 miles to have it either renovated or brand new by election time," he said.

On Monday, Donald Trump tweeted,  “I am all alone (poor me) in the White House waiting for the Democrats to come back and make a deal on desperately needed Border Security. At some point the Democrats not wanting to make a deal will cost our Country more money than the Border Wall we are all talking about. Crazy!”

On the shutdown's second day, Trump Tweeted, that what's needed is "a good old-fashioned WALL that works," not aerial drones or other measures that "are wonderful and lots of fun" but not the answer to address drugs, gangs, human trafficking and other criminal elements entering the country.

“President Trump has thrown a temper tantrum and now has us careening toward a ‘Trump shutdown’ over Christmas,” Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer said on the Senate floor. “You’re not getting the wall today, next week or on January 3rd, when Democrats take control of the House,” Schumer added.
