Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi has expressed high hopes for the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi this year saying that the two neighbours should strengthen cooperation to facilitate the settlement of the boundary question.

According to China Daily, Wang's comments came at a press conference in Beijing on the sidelines of National People's Congress' annual session.

Wang said that Modi will be warmly welcomed by the Chinese government as well as the people of China as they believe in reciprocating the courtesy of others.

The two countries should work towards "common prosperity of two emerging markets" and the "early revitalization of two Eastern civilizations".
