New Delhi:

We all love Tony Stark ‘3000’ but ….well, let’s not talk about! Instead, here’s what you need to know. Tony Stark’s iconic ‘Iron Man’ suit may soon become reality. Doesn’t matter if you are an ‘Avengers’ or not, this key innovation will change the armed forces as we know it. Latest reports say that China is looking at developing the ‘exoskeletons’ that will revolutionise the defence sector. According to a report by state-run Global Times, ‘the PLA (People’s Liberation Army) is reportedly evaluating advanced exoskeleton systems.’ Beijing’s new efforts in defence technology were made public after a competition titled ‘Super Warrior 2019 Military Individual Exoskeleton System Challenge’ was held in South China's Guangdong Province.

Organised by the PLA’s Equipment Department, the competition saw around 100 teams showcasing their take on ‘Iron Man suits’ and similar exoskeleton technology. “Worn as a kind of exoskeleton, the suits are installed with intelligent systems that can read users' intention and synchronize with their movement. The suits are being designed to provide extra kinetic energy to help enhance the strength, speed and stamina of users,” the Global Times report said.

China is not the only country looking to develop ‘Iron Man’ suits. In a 2017 announcement, the US Special Operations Command, which is part of the Defense Department, requested submissions from any 'industry, academia, individuals and government organizations,' interested in developing a special super suit for the military.

The Tactical Assault Light Operator Suit (Talos) would effectively give its wearer superpowers, such as the ability to see in the dark, super-human strength and a way of deflecting bullets, Daily Mail report explained the technology.
