New Delhi:

Former Pakistani cricket captain Javed Miandad, who is known for making bizarre statements, has again spewed venom against India over Kashmir issue. A video is doing the rounds on social media in which Miandad can be seen brandishing a sword as he claims to show solidarity with Kashmiris.

In what can be seen as a demonstration, Miandad, wearing the Pakistan cricket team's jersey, can be heard saying that if he can wield a bat, he can also wield a sword.

"Kashmir bhaiyo fikar mat karo hum aapke saath hai. Mere paas balla bhi hai, pehle chakka maara tha, ab yeh [sword] bhi hai (Kashmiri brothers don't worry. We are with you. Earlier I used a bat to hit a six, now I can use this sword)" Javed Miandad said.

As Miandad sheathes the sword, a voice in the background can be heard saying, "Balla bhi tez tha ab talwar bhi tez hai. (The bat was sharp, now the sword is sharp)"

To this, Javed Miandad proudly shows off his sword again and exclaims that if he can use a bat to hit a six, he can use the sword to kill a man. "Jab main balle se chakka maar sakta hoon tu iss [talwar] se insaan kyu nahin maar sakta, (if I can hit a sixer with a bat, can't I kill a man with a sword)" is his smug admission.

This is not the first time that Miandad has made such inflammatory statement against India. Earlier, over the abrogation of the Article 370 of the Constitution which gave Jammu and Kashmir a special status, Miandad had said that Pakistan would “clean India” with the nuclear weapon.

Speaking to a TV news channel, video of which is going viral online, the former Pakistan skipper said: “If you (Pakistan) have a licensed weapon, then you should attack. There is a rule across the world that you can kill people in your defence. They (India) will feel the pain when their bodies would go to their homes.”

On being asked about what message did he want to give to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Miandad replied: “I have already said that India is a sneaky country. We have not kept atomic bombs like this, we will bomb India with them…we will clean India with a nuclear bomb.”

Recently, Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed said his entire country was with their “Kashmiri Brothers”. After offering Eid prayers in Karachi, Sarfaraz told the media: “I pray to the Almighty Allah to help and rescue our Kashmiri brothers sail over these tough times.

“We all equally share their pain and misery. Entire Pakistan today stands with them.”

Earlier, former Pakistani skipper Shahid Afridi had also slammed the UN for its silence on the matter and sought the intervention of the world body.

“Kashmiris must be given their due rights as per #UN resolution. The rights of Freedom like all of us. Why was @UN created & why is it sleeping?

Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar spoke up against abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and dividing the state into two Union territories - Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

Shoaib Akhtar echoed the Pakistani government's claim that the Kashmir region was being oppressed by the Indian government.

"We stand by your side .. EID Mubarak," he said on social media. The accompanying image read: "You define sacrifice. We pray for your freedom and what a great purpose to live for. #Kashmir".
