New Delhi:

More than 125 migrants are feared dead after a migrant boat sank in the mediterranean sea, the International Organization for Migration(IOM) said.

The incident took place recently when a boat carrying 130 migrants, mostly Sudanese left Libya but caught by the pirates in the middle of the Mediterranean water.

The Pirates stole the motor of the boat after which it sank with 130 people. However, four people including 2 Sudanese and equal number of Nigerians were rescued by the passing by Libyan fishermen.

Gangs in Libya have built a lucrative trade out of packing migrants into rickety boats heading for Italy, where more than 65,000 have arrived so far this year. As of June 14, 1,828 were believed to have died in the attempt, according to IOM figures.
