The British royal family has released a china range to celebrate the birth of Britain's future King George Alexander Louis, but each piece of the rare memorabilia costs a princely sum.

Two days after Prince William and Kate Middleton were blessed with a baby boy, The 'Royal Collection Trust' has produced the official range of china to celebrate the royal birth.

The selection of pretty pieces that have been specially commissioned includes a dessert plate, pillbox and loving cup.

The design on the commemorative china features the lion and unicorn from the Royal Arms supporting the coronet of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The oak leaves surrounding the design are taken from the Middleton family's coat of arms.

The commemorative china also incorporates the name and birth date of Prince Cambridge, the People magazine reported.

Made in Staffordshire, using traditional methods that have remained unchanged for 250 years, each piece of the English fine bone china is skillfully finished by hand using 22-carat gold.

Each piece of china is made in Stoke-on-Trent, by the same potteries that produced the official range of china celebrating the marriage of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in 2011 and those ranges marking the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in 2012 and the 60th anniversary of the Coronation this year.

The new collection also features an assortment of exclusive Royal Baby souvenirs, ranging from a mug, tea towel and teddy bear to tree decorations and silver charms.

But owning the exclusive merchandise can leave you with a hole in the pocket with the official products costing as much as 195 pounds.

The cheapest item included in the merchandise is a tea towel, which is only 8.95 pounds, but when it comes to the china the prices are steep.

A light blue mug costs 20 pounds, a pillbox is 30 pounds while a commemorative plate is priced at 45 pounds.

The costliest object in the range is a hand-finished 'limited edition loving cup', of which only 2,013 are available, which costs 195 pounds.
