Bodies shifted from Balakot to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after IAF air strike: Activist from Gilgit

New Delhi:

Senge Hasnan Sering, a United States-based activist from Gilgit, sparked a new debate after he tweeted a video that purportedly shows a Pakistan military officer admitting to "martyrdom" of more than 200 terrorists during an Indian strike on Balakot.

"Pakistan military officer admits to "martyrdom" of more than 200 militants during Indian strike on Balakot. Calls the terrorists Mujahid who receive special favours/ sustenance from Allah as they fight to support PAK government [against enemies]. Vows to support families," Senge Hasnan Sering. tweeted.

News agency ANI, after speaking to Sering, reported that there were reports in the Urdu media that bodies were shifted from Balakot to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. "There is enough evidence where one could speculate with confidence that the Balakot strike by the Indian Air Force was successful and Pakistan has not been able to prove otherwise since it has not enabled the international media or national media to visit the site," ANI quoted him as saying.

Earlier, an Italian journalist had claimed that Pakistan army carried away at least 35 dead bodies from the spot.

On February 26, the Indian Air Force (IAF)'s Mirage 2000 fighters armed with SPICE 2000 satellite-guided bombs had struck the Jaish-e-Mohammed's Balakot training camp in response to the gruesome terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district on February 14. Being touted as the Surgical Strike 2.0, the airstrike killed "a very large number of Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists, trainers, senior commanders, and groups of jihadis" at the alleged terror camp in Balakot, India’s foreign secretary Vijay Gokhale said.
