Kabul:
A strong blast killed at least 27 people and left other 35 dead at Shiite mosque in Kabul on Monday. The blast took place when the worshippers were gathered at the mosque for a religious ceremony, officials said.
“A blast was reported at around 1230 (local time) in police district 6 of Kabul, we are still gathering the details,” interior ministry spokesman Sediq Sediqqi said.
Kabul police CID later confirmed 27 deaths and 35 injuries. Officials said the attack took place at the Baqir Olum mosque in the western part of the city.
At least 15 wounded were taken to hospitals, the health ministry said.
