An Indonesian rock band swept away by tsunami waves while performing in a beachside concert, dramatic video footage being shared on social showed on Sunday. Hundreds of people had gathered at the Tanjung Lesung beach for a pre-Christmas party when the devastating Tsunami hit on Saturday night. The purported video footage showed people dancing and enjoying the music but suddenly started screaming as the tsunami wave hit the stage, sweeping members of the local rock band Seventeen. “Underwater I could only pray ‘Jesus Christ help!’, Zack, a crew member of the rock band Seventeen, said in an Instagram post describing the horror he underwent. "In the final seconds I almost ran out of breath," he said, adding he survived by clinging to part of the collapsed stage.

The deadly tsunami struck at Saturday night without any warning, destroying hundreds of buildings located in several popular tourist destinations, including the Tanjung Lesung beach resort in the west of Java island. Local authorities said the undersea landslides after the Anak Krakatau volcano eruption might have caused the tsunami. Meanwhile, people have been advised to stay away from the coastline due to fears of another tsunami.
