Paris:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in France to attend the Global climate summit to be held in Paris from today. World leaders from major economies will be taking part in the mega event that will focus on the key points that can help in controlling the global warming already reading 2 degree celcius more on the meters.
On November 30, 2015 more than 100 world leaders will gather in Paris to make an attempt on halting the biggest concern of global warming in the world. They will be joined by planet’s leading scientists, who have been urging nations to control the emission of greenhouse gases in order to avoid unprecedented consequences.
The COP21 (21st Conference of Parties) will also feature talks from the leaders of the world’s most polluting nations, including Barack Obama of United States, Putin from Russia, Xi Jinping from China and Narendra Modi from India.
Environmentalists hope for a solution these world leaders will brainstorm to curb the growing danger.
The conference come at a crucial time when reports like 2014 being the hottest year ever, glaciers melting faster than ever and coral reefs are suffering from an assault of bleaching, spurred by ever-warmer oceans are here.
Obama said he was "optimistic" the world will reach an outcome this time, as past meetings have failed to turn up a policy that pleases everyone.
