Aditya Chopra-directed Befikre , starring Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor , opened on a promising note with Rs 10.36 crore in its account on day 1.
After earning Rs 10.36 crore on its first day at the domestic market, Befikre's earning witnessed a heavy dip on Monday as it collected Rs 5.20 crore on its fourth day. Although the film had earned well on its opening weekend as well as on Monday, business of the movie continued to fall in the subsequent days with collections of Rs 3.59 crore on Tuesday , Rs 3.02 crore on Wednesday and Rs 2.51 on Thursday taking its seven days total earning to Rs 48.75 crore nett at the Indian box office.
The paper-thin plot revolves around the relationship between the carefree Dharam (Ranveer Singh) and Shyra (Vaani Kapoor), how they fall in and out of and back in love.The movie received mixed reviews from the critics, but apparently did not enjoy positive word of mouth. It was one of the most hyped movies of 2016, but the drop in collection over the days suggests that the movie failed to impresss as well as expected by the audience."
