New Delhi:

.

Expectations from Akshay Kumar banner film ‘Fugly’ were real high but with a desire to deliver many things together film’s plot lead you to confusion.

Set in New Delhi, the film is a story of four friends - Dev (Mohit Marwah), Gaurav (Vijendra Singh), Aditya (Arif Lamba) and Devi (Kiara Advani) – who are the best buddies and leading best stage of their lives by enjoying each and every moment. Their roller-coaster life comes to a halt after Haryanvi cop Chautala (Jimmy Shergill) comes in the picture to take control of their lives.

Chautala being the most corrupt cop pulls them in a murder case and demands a heavy ransom to free their lives. But, with their continuous failure to pucker such huge amount Chautala puts his devil mind on work and offers them only choice to work as agents of the evil society; which in return makes them a credit card with no limit for him.

What comes next is the mixed plot which tries to tell how these trapped friends help each other to overcome the corrupt official and dirty politics. Allegedly the conclusion of the film leaves you with a social message which can only be considered in post Narendra Modi era.

Actor turned director Kabir Sadanand has tried to unleash the harsh reality of our administration system. But, as mentioned earlier that his desire to deliver many things together like gay-prostitution and over hauled journalism in a bracket of two hours leads you to many confusing moments.

As far as performances are concerned, it is undoubtedly Jimmy Shergill who wins the league. Other actors have also done a decent job but Vijender Singh, who made his debut, turned out to be as normal as any other Haryanvi actor had been.

Talking about music, on one side film delivers simply fantastic title track by Yo Yo Honey Singh and on the other side disappoints with more than irrelevant item number performed by Sana Saeed.

Final Verdict: At many points the film reminds you of Rang De Basanti. And the moment comparison begins film leads you to the disappointment. But, if you can control you analyst and watch the movie without thinking much this can be your choice for the weekend.
