New Delhi:

After watching movies like Kahaani and The Dirty Picture, the expectations from Vidya Balan were real high and to prove them right, she comes in with Bobby Jasoos.

Vidya has played nothing less than seven characters as detective in the film and each one delivers its own flavor of entertainment.

Stitched with many characters Bobby Jasoos is the story of Bilkis Ahmad (Vidya Balan), a Muslim girl in a patriarchal household in Hyderabad, who dreams of becoming the best detective in the town amid a desire to be prove her worth to father.

This intriguing story kick starts with a homely assigned case to prove the talent and also joblessness of Bobby Jasoos. After many failed attempts of fetching a job, Bilkis contemplates of opening her own company – Bobby Jasoos Private Limited.

The simplicity in the character, fight with the family and a desire to be on the top somehow connects and brings an engagement.

But, soon to disrupt the engagement enters disappointment (at least for the audiences) when Bobby gets a mysterious client (Kiran Kumar) who is in to put hell lot of money just for finding people in the streets of Hyderabad.

Now, this section interestingly deals with the fact that how money overshadows many things. But as expected, Bobby figures it out that blindfolded with money she has definitely done something really messy. And to clean the mess she is now on a mission. What comes next is the thought-provoking tale which unfolds the bond of family, especially father and children.

Saying it again, Vidya Balan is the hero of the film and deserves applause for delivering a power packed performance.

Vidya Balan is paired with Ali Fazal and he has also played his character beautifully. He is playing the role of a famed TV anchor who is after Bobby to save his life from marriage but lands in a mess when families hook them up together.

Supporting the lead Arjan Bajwa as Lala, Supriya Pathak as Ammi, Tanvi Azmi as Kausar Khaala and Rajendra Gupta as Abba have also done a superior job which keeps the momentum going.

Debutant director Samar Shaikh may have failed to cook the story perfectly, but he has definitely succeeded in showing the beauty of Hyderabad. Without forgetting, he has also dedicated a fair amount of time in presenting the delicious Hyderabadi Biryani.

In terms of music, the film lags some good numbers which could keep the audiences connected for quite long time. But all in all the music is relevant and sounds good with the film.

Final Verdict: The film comes in with a power packed performance, delivers a half cooked story and should be watched for talented Vidya Balan.
