BJP leaders detained in Birbhum for allegedly defying prohibitory orders

Birbhum (West Bengal):

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders led by Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi were detained on Thursday for defying prohibitory orders in Birbhum District.

West Bengal Police later took all BJP leaders, including Kirti Azad in buses to ensure that no untoward incident takes place.

The BJP delegation comprised of Naqvi and Members of Parliament Kirti Azad and Udit Raj. They are expected to submit a report about the incident to the central leadership of the party.

Earlier this week, three persons were reportedly killed and as many injured, and at least five houses were set on fire when the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the BJP supporters fought a gun battle at Makra village in Birbhum District.
