To mark the first anniversary of Bhartiya Janata Party-led NDA government at Centre, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a rally in Mathura on Monday.

The PM will address the town of Nagla Chandrabhan, the ancestral village of BJP ideologue Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya.

At the Mathura rally, PM is also expected to announce implementation of the one rank one pension (OROP) scheme to get a soft spot with ex-servicemen.

According to Defence ministry sources, “Modalities relating to the long-pending demand of ex-servicemen have been thrashed out. He can also make an announcement about OROP at the rally in Mathura.”

OROP relates to payment of uniform pension to defence forces personnel retiring in the same rank with the same length of service, irrespective of their date of retirement.

Security tightened

Ahead of the rally where PM will address rally at 4.30 PM, security has been tightened. Nearly eight companies of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), five companies of Rapid Action Force (RAF) have been be deployed in addition to seven SP rank officers, two additional SPs and 19 Deputy SPs at the venue of the rally.

About 100 civil police constables, 35 traffic constables and 12 inspectors and sub-inspectors will be stationed in Mathura and Nagla Chandrabhan village.
