The festival of Navratri has already begun across the country. The Goddess of Power Maa Durga is worshipped in nine different forms during these nine days - Shailputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalatri, Mahagauri and Siddhidatri.

Vaishno Devi in Jammu and Kashmir
Also known as Mata Rani is a temple dedicated to goddess Durga located in the Trikuta mountains. This is considered a holy place because here three three idols of goddess are found- Maha Kali, Maha Lakshmi and Maha Saraswati which have different attributes.
Chhatarpur temple in Delhi
It is believed here that tying a thread on the tree within the temple premises fulfills every wish. It is located in Delhi and is known for its modern architecture and marbles.
Jwalamukhi devi temple in Himachal Pradesh
Situated in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh this temple is among the 51 Shakti Peethas and one of the most renowned temples of Goddess Durga in India. Maa Durga is known as Jwala Ji here.
Kamakhya temple in Guwahati
The Kamakhya temple is among the 108 shakti piths of Goddess Durga. In this temple the Goddess is worshipped as Mother Goddess Kamakhya, who is considered to be the essence of female energy.
Durga temple in Varanasi
This 18th century shrine was built by a Bengali queen. The temple is located on a rectangular tank. The locals believe here that the Goddess fiercely protects them from any outside ill wills. The temple is also known as the monkey temple due to a large presence of them.
Karni Mata temple in Bikaner
A world famous temple licated at Deshnoke in Rajasthan. KarniMata is worshipped here as one of the incarnation of Goddess Durgaby her followers. The temple is also famous for a thousand rats which are considered sacred and given protection.
Durgiana temple in Amritsar
The temple derives it name from Goddess Durga and is situated near the Lohgarh gate in Amritsar. Idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Vishnu, protector of world are also worshipped here.
