Traders in Delhi would be observing ‘Delhi Vyapar Bandh’ on Tuesday against the sealing drive being carried out by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
This was informed by Brajesh Gupta of Chamber of Trade and Industries who alleged that traders in Delhi are being harassed by the civic body led by the BJP.
“Traders are being harassed by MCD since past 1 month by sealing of shops. We request BJP to stop sealing & illegal collection in name of procurement charges. Trader associations have decided to hold Delhi Vyapar Bandh on January 23,” said Gupta.
Lending support to the traders, Gopal Rai, Rural Development Minister of Delhi said, “Sealing has been going on in the city in spite of the protests of the traders. Actually, the BJP is snatching away their livelihoods. We will launch an extensive drive against sealing and have announced Delhi Bandh on January 23 in solidarity with city’s traders.”
