A 23-year-old pregnant woman died of swine flu on Friday at Gandhi Hospital, Warangal. Before coming to the government hospital she had been admitted for five days at a private hospital.
When Bhavani Siripuram was brought to hospital she was in an advanced stage of swine flu and required intensive care and ventilator support. Her relatives were unable to continue to pay for treatment at a private hospital.
"We had already spent about 4 lakh for her treatment. When we could not afford it many more and were not assured of recovery, we moved herto Gandhio Hospital," a relative said.
