New Delhi:
The police on Sunday arrested Faizuddin Laskar, a teacher who had posted obscene photographs with his student online. The teacher of the Model High School in Assam allegedly clicked objectionable photos with a minor girl, which were later posted online.
The leader of Opposition in Assam and Congress leader Debabrata Saikia condemned the incident and demanded strict action to be taken by the state government against the teacher. He also attacked the BJP who had launched 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' earlier and said the recent incident has shown improper implementation of the scheme.

While speaking to ANI, Saikai said "This sort of behaviour is very unfortunate. It is surprising that the state government and education departments have not reacted upon the case. This kind of incident will only further discourage girls from pursuing education. Even the Centre has not reacted upon this. I think the 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' will remain as just a slogan, rather than a constructive move."
It is still not clear that who had clicked the photos. However, the background in the photos reveals that they were in the school premises.
